Shepherd Works is a dietitian practice, headed by Dr Sue Shepherd, which specialises in adult and paediatric (over 3 years of age) patients who have the following gastro-intestinal conditions:
- Coeliac Disease
- Fructose Malabsorption
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- low FODMAP diet
- Lactose Intolerance
- Crohn’s Disease
- Ulcerative Colitis
- Others upon request
We also have a Clinical Hypnotherapist, who specialises in Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Coeliac Disease.
The team includes twelve Accredited Practising Dietitians, all up-to-date with the latest information for teaching such specialised dietary information. Our Clinical Hypnotherapist, Simone Peters, specialises in Irritable Bowel Syndrome, IBD and Coeliac Disease. Please refer to staff profiles for more information about the team.
Individual consultations
Available with Kim Menzies, Anna Kyriopoulos, Eliza Jervis-Read, Emma Halmos, Kate Lambe, Kim Canale, Lauren Kerr, Marnie Nitschke, Meagan Ward, Michelle McPhee, Mikaela Figgis, Virginia Fazio and Katherine Kelly for any gastrointestinal nutrition appointment. Shepherd Works has three practice locations: Box Hill Nth, Glen Iris and Bundoora in Victoria, Australia.
Group information sessions
Available for people with newly diagnosed coeliac disease, fructose malabsorption or lactose intolerance. Evening group information sessions are run from Box Hill Hospital, Seminar Room 2, Level 3, 5 Arnold Street Box Hill (cnr Spring Street)
A doctor’s referral is not essential, however if you have one, please bring it with you to the appointment. Please also bring with you results of any tests and investigations you may have had regarding your condition. Please note, our practice specialises in food intolerances, and the conditions listed above. We do not specialise in patients with food allergies.
Supermarket Tours
These fun and informative information sessions are conducted by dietitian, Alison Murphy, over a 2 hour tour up and down the supermarket aisles, teaching you how to read food packet labels confidently, giving you the skills not only to choose foods safely but to ensure you are enjoying your diet to the fullest.
