We caught up with Melbourne based Nutrition entrepreneur Tracey Emney to learn more about her recent partnership with one of Melbourne’s leading chefs and a dietitian. Together, they have recently launched ‘we feed you’ and are delivering delicious meals across Melbourne, the Mornington and Bellarine Peninsulas. All meals are gluten free and they have an impressive range of low FODMAP meals.
Shepherd Works (SW): Tracey, tell us about ‘we feed you’!
Tracey Emney (TE): ‘we feed you’ are a team of passionate nutrition and food professionals who make and deliver high quality and nutritious, frozen ready-made meals that are conveniently available and great value.
We started ‘we feed you’ after our own frustration of coming home night after night and not having the energy or headspace to prepare nutritious meals for ourselves and our families. We knew a lot of people with similar challenges, so we decided to turn this into an opportunity and solve the problem for all of us!
We’ve started in Melbourne first which is where we are all based.
SW: Who are the chefs at ‘we feed you’?
TE: Dave Roberts and Charlotte Miller are the chefs, and two of the co-founders, of ‘we feed you’.
Dave is a highly experienced, professionally trained chef and has recently completed seven years as the Head Chef at iconic Melbourne restaurant Movida. Charlotte is a dietitian and professionally trained chef, and has worked extensively as a private chef for organisations and families in Australia and overseas.

SW: Tell us about your food philosophy
TE: The meals we create reflect the sort of food we’d love to prepare at home
(if only we had the time!): no hidden nasties, plenty of flavour and texture, heaps of vegetables, quality free-range meats and a varied seasonal menu.
Like Shepherd Works, we firmly believe having a food intolerance should not be a barrier to enjoying great food, so we have designed our menu to also cater for people on a low FODMAP diet, coeliacs, fructose and lactose intolerant, vegan and vegetarian. All of our meals are gluten-free, onion and garlic-free.
SW: What do you have specifically for people on a low FODMAP diet?
TE: Lots! We currently have 10 meals that are suitable for a low FODMAP diet some of which include:
– Lemon and Ginger Chicken with Kale, Zucchini and Brown Rice
– Moorish Spiced Pork Meatballs with Kale, Roasted Grapes and Pinenuts
– Chicken and Green Vegetable Stir-fry with Rice Noodles, Ginger and Peanuts
– Miso and Mirin Eggplant with Thick Rice Noodles and Green Onions

SW: What sort of response have you been getting from customers?
TE: We only launched four months ago and the response has been fantastic, so it’s clearly meeting a need. Word of mouth referrals are huge which enables us to spend the bulk of our time in the kitchen developing and refining meals.

TE: As a busy working mum, I know how challenging it is to get a healthy dinner on the table each night for my kids. So, we have decided to make dinner time super easy for busy parents by offering kid-friendly nutritious meals that can be cooked from frozen and on the table in minutes. We’ve cooked the hard part, so all you’ll need to do is add some sides that you know your kids will love – and dinner is done!
‘we feed you’ KIDS meals are made like you would at home: no added sugar, salt or hidden nasties; and packed with quality free-range meats and heaps of fresh veggies. We use anywhere from 3-7 different types of veggies in each meal. You can be confident our meals are bursting with nutrients to fuel your little ones.
